On 8 November 2012, our Corporate Care Associate, Ms Irene E. Tan was invited to chair a Conference on Medicine & The Law: The Necessities, Conflicts & Liabilities at the Novotel Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
It was a very insightful talk where professionals participated and gathered to be updated on the current position in law as well as to exchange views on the practical aspects in respect of their respective fields. The programme overview touched on the rights and duties of the medical profession and the rights of the patients and what would be deemed to be in the best interest of patients. What is clear is that as a professional group, we are often confronted with problems for which we have to be responsible for. Somehow or rather. And by getting the right legal consultation and exchanging views with other professionals in similar field would allow for interaction and illuminate the problems clearer before a solution can be reached.
