Development News: MBs hope Budget 2015 Will Ease the People’s Burden

PETALING JAYA: Several mentris besar have expressed hope that the 2015 Budget will meet the needs of all strata of society to enhance the quality of their lives.

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the state government was confident that the government would implement measures to overcome the people’s problems over the increasing cost of living.

“I am confident the Budget will bring good news in the government’s effort to strengthen the lives of the people by giving priority in answering questions on the national economic issues,” he said after chairing the state exco meeting in Ipoh yesterday.

In Alor Setar, Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir hoped Budget 2015 would help tappers who were suffering from the low rubber price.

“They are under stress because the price of rubber is too low. I hope that their plight will be addressed.

“The Kedah government also needs to pay attention to the poor in rural areas who need housing, infrastructure and water supply,” he said.

In Kota Baru, Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob expressed hope that the Budget would benefit the middle-income group.

Ahmad said he was confident that the Government would focus on this group to help them with the increasing cost of living.

“There may be good news for the people, especially the middle-income group, which will get attention in the Budget this time.

“That is what the state government hopes for because what is important is the well-being of the people,” he said.

“We hope the Budget would benefit the people, especially with the coming Goods and Services Tax and increase in petrol prices,” he said. — Bernama
